Needs of an IT fresher

Five Points……

Confidence:

A positive attitude all ways helps to keep your self up in high spirits. While preparing for any kind of tests or interview one need to concentrate on what he/she wants to achieve.

Resume:

Your resume speaks on your behalf to the recruiters; it takes the recruiters just a couple of minutes to scan through your resumes. So be careful while framing your resume. Not more than two pages should include your personal details like Name, address for communication, contact number, email address. Your qualification should follow personal details; recruiters will be more interested in your qualification, branch, aggregate, and other academic honors, trainings, international certifications. Following your qualification summary you can specify your academic project training/in plant training details; this must include your contribution towards the project, platform worked in, and other relevant details. Don’t include your lab modules as projects. Even if you had chance of one project just mention it elaborately at the same time short and crisp. No need for any declaration, your signature, personal profile like fathers name, sex, nationality, marital status etc.

Aptitude and Verbal Skills:

First screening process for fresher/entry level professionals in India is general aptitude test. It includes quantitative math aptitude, analytical/verbal aptitude, puzzles (includes math and verbal), communication skill (Basic English like synonym, antonym, sentence completion, comprehension, etc.), technical aptitude (includes c, c++/java, computer fundamentals etc.). All these are likely to differ from company to company. To know the test pattern of each company visit job portals listed in left side. Above all you should have good books that will help you in preparations. Some books to list are:

Fundamentals:

I don’t want to elaborate on this be thorough on basics of your major. Mostly recruiters concentrate on programming (c, c++/java), Data Structures, RDBMS, Networks, OOP concepts and many more depending upon job profile. If your are good enough in this you can clear technical interviews.

Job searching skills:

Have as many personal references as you can. If you don’t have one don’t worry, about 90 % of fresher don’t have any personal reference. So what should you do?
Get internet access, search job postings in job forums, join job news groups, keep tracking news paper advertisements, develop network with other job aspirants and share information. Wait for an opportunity and utilize it to the fullest. While applying for jobs through email avoid multiple recipient mails or forwarding your mails. Be sure you have attached a cover letter and your resume. Try to understand the job profile and if you are eligible then apply. If you don’t suite the recruiter’s requirement then it’s for sure your candidature will be dropped.
