the Punjab Government plans for Electrification. PSEB has ambitious growth plans and to make it happen, PSEB

REMARKS: The selected candidates for the post of Sub- Station Attendant will be given 4 months training at
different Sub Stations of the Board. The arrangement of the training will be made by the Director/TTI
PSEB Patiala as per training already being given at present to the Lineman. They will be posted on
actual job after the completion of the training.
KNOWLEDGE OF PUNJABI
The candidates must have passed Punjabi atleast upto Matric Standard upto the last date of receipt of
applications (relaxable in case of November, 1984 riots affected Sikh migrant candidates to the extent of 2
years w. e. f. date of joining the post).
RELAXATION IN AGE LIMIT:
Upper age limit is relaxable as admissible under rules/ instructions of PSEB / Punjab Government. Relaxation in
age in different categories as given below:
a. SC/ST and Backward class: 5 years over & above the normal recruitment age.
b. Ex-Serviceman: To the extent of service rendered in Armed Forces of Union of India
subject to usual terms and conditions.
c. Physically Handicapped: 10 years over and above the normal recruitment age.
d. In case of the following, the upper age limit shall be 40 years subject to the condition that the
candidate is meeting other eligibility criteria for the post:
i. Widows;
ii. Women who are legally Separated from their husbands or have been divorced;
iii. Women whose husbands have been ordered by Civil or Criminal courts to pay maintenance to

RESERVATION OF POSTS:
The reservation of posts for reserved categories is applicable for candidates of Punjab Domicile only. The
category wise and discipline wise actual number of posts will be worked out on the basis of running roster point
as per reservation policy of Punjab Government and adopted by PSEB from time to time. Category once filled
in the Application Form will not be allowed to be changed and no benefit of other category will be admissible
later on. The reserve category candidate will be required to submit requisite certificate on the prescribed
format at the time of joining, if selected.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Eligible candidates will have to under go a written test and the offer of appointment will be made to the
successful candidates based on merit in the written test only. The minimum qualifying marks in the written test
for General Category candidates is 50% and for Reserve Category candidates is 40%.
ABOUT TEST
The information regarding the written test will be made available on our Web site www.pseb.gov.in from time to
time. The written test is tentatively scheduled to be held in the month of April, 2009 at Patiala/Chandigarh. The
exact date, time and venue of the written test and information regarding despatch of Admit Cards to the
eligible candidates, with guidelines of the test will be made available at least 15 days prior to the date of the
test.
PLACEMENT FOR ASSISTANT ENGINEER/ON TRAINING
The selected candidates shall undergo training at TTI Patiala as per PSEB instructions. The final place of posting
will be allocated after successful completion of training.

* Accounts Officer in Class III : 31 posts, Pay Scale : Rs.8000-13500/-,
* Qualification :
Must have passed the Final Examination of ICA/ Cost Accountant ,
* Age : 30 years.

Filled in applications on OMR forms must be sent to the Controller of Examinations, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Omanthoorar Government Estate, Anna Salai, Chennai – 600002 by Registered Post / Speed Post well in advance so as to reach the Commission’s Office before 5.45 p.m. on 11/02/2009.
